Superb start to the Y5/6 football season

Putteridge started the new Y5/6 boys football season with a 4 - 1 win over Warden Hill Juniors.

On Thursday 20th September, Putteridge played their opening game of the new season against a very strong Warden Hill side in windy conditions.

Putteridge started really well, passing the ball freely and linking up well across the pitch. Initially, there were very few chances - the players were getting used to playing in the wind and struggling to find the key pass to create any clear opportunities.  Out of nowhere, Mason charged down a clearance from a defender and ran through to slot home the first goal of the game. Putteridge grew in confidence and started to make opportunities with Daniel O scoring 2 further goals in the first half.

Putteridge started the second half playing into the wind which made it very difficult to clear the ball and maintain momentum.  Warden Hill then scored a deserved goal with a long range unstoppable strike. This goal spurred Putteridge on with some excellent last ditch tackling from Callum B and Jack S, who both had excellent games. Daniel O sealed the game with a fantastic near post header to complete his hat trick.

The squad have been training fantastically well at lunchtimes and put in an excellent team performance, with all players contributing throughout.
